Karen James has been passionately serving the beauty industry since 2001, building KP JAMES Salon on a foundation of education, creativity, and exceptional guest experiences. Early in her career, she became a Redken educator, where she refined her skills while learning from some of the industry’s leading artists.

Karen specializes in corrective color, dimensional blonding, lived-in balayage, long hair transformations, and extensions. She believes every guest deserves a customized experience and is passionate about helping each person leave the salon feeling confident, beautiful, and cared for.

Isabella Ruiz

Business & Marketing Operations Manager

As the Business & Marketing Operations Manager at KP JAMES Salon, Isabella oversees the systems and strategies that keep the salon running smoothly. She manages client relations, marketing, social media, recruitment, scheduling, website management, internal communications, and day-to-day business operations while supporting both the salon team and leadership.

Passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, Isabella is committed to fostering an organized, welcoming environment where clients feel cared for and the team has the tools they need to thrive. Through thoughtful planning, creative marketing, and behind-the-scenes leadership, she helps bring the vision of KP JAMES Salon to life every day.

One of Shannon’s favorite parts of her career is the lasting relationships she’s built with her guests, creating a welcoming experience where everyone feels comfortable, confident, and right at home.

Mykel

Mykel has been part of the KP JAMES Salon family since 2012 and brings over a decade of experience in both hairstyling and professional makeup artistry. He has continued his education through multiple MAC Cosmetics certifications, expanding his expertise in beauty both behind the chair and beyond.

He specializes in custom blonding, creative haircuts, men’s fades, and bold, high-impact makeup. Whether creating a subtle refresh or a dramatic transformation, Mykel loves bringing each guest’s vision to life.

Gabriella is a licensed cosmetologist and educator with over seven years of experience in the beauty industry. Passionate about continued education, she has earned her Keratin Complex certification and has expanded her expertise through advanced training with Aveda, Vidal Sassoon, Redken, and other leading industry professionals.
